La Pez, formed by five artists, embarked on a luxury cruise to entertain the passengers with their repertoire of performances. The vessel´s auditorium was the setting for their popular trick of making someone disappear in the `Magic Box´.
When everything was ready to reveal the empty Box, a migrant worker popped out from inside. This was no magic trick, his aim was not to be an impromptu `extra´, but rather to find a safe place hide in order to get to Europe. The company had stored the `atrezzo´required for their show in the ship`s hold and that`s where he hid with another four stowaways who, whilst everyone was off their guard, had managed to slip on board in tangiers and hide the hold.
The members of La Pez were thrown off the cruise, accused of complicity, but they have turned the anecdote into a theatre performance, making the five migrants part of their new show.
